چکیده
The need for producing renewable fuels from biomass has increased due to depleting fossil resources and environmental concerns. However, the low fraction of carbon converted product is an undeniable drawback most current biofuel productions fermentation undecomposed lignin in composition loss as CO2. In this work, two main production routes MixAlco® process, ketonization route (KR) esterification (ER) are evaluated mixed alcohol by brown algae, a third-generation without lignin. A novel process using syntrophic bacteria consortia (SBC) developed produce acetic acid waste gas produced KR ER process. paper investigates integrated flowsheet these alternative routes, techno-economic life cycle analysis compare minimum selling price impacts. From TEA, we find that overall costs lower than SBC processes. cost routes. capital operating ER+SBC highest. Raw materials utilities major all processing examined. Stochastic techno-economic analysis of alcohol-to-jet fuel production
BACKGROUND Alcohol-to-jet (ATJ) is one of the technical feasible biofuel technologies. It produces jet fuel from sugary, starchy, and lignocellulosic biomass, such as sugarcane, corn grain, and switchgrass, via fermentation of sugars to ethanol or other alcohols. This study assesses the ATJ biofuel production pathway for these three biomass feedstocks, and advances existing techno-economic anal...
متن کاملIntegrating enzyme fermentation in lignocellulosic ethanol production: life-cycle assessment and techno-economic analysis
BACKGROUND Cellulase enzymes have been reported to contribute with a significant share of the total costs and greenhouse gas emissions of lignocellulosic ethanol production today. A potential future alternative to purchasing enzymes from an off-site manufacturer is to integrate enzyme and ethanol production, using microorganisms and part of the lignocellulosic material as feedstock for enzymes....
متن کاملTechno- Economic and Life- Cycle Cost Assessment of the CCHP/ PV Hybrid System Application
In recent decades, excessive using fossil fuels has been resulted in emitting greenhouse gases such as CO2, consequently, environmental pollution. In this study, the techno-economic analysis of the CCHP/PV hybrid system application for a sample building was examined to reduce the environmental pollution and primary energy consumption of the buildings. The life-cycle cost analysis was...
متن کاملTechno-Economic Analysis of Biofuel Production from Macroalgae (Seaweed)
A techno-economic evaluation of bioenergy production from macroalgae was carried out in this study. Six different scenarios were examined for the production of different energy products and by-products. Seaweed was produced either via the longline method or the grid method. Final products of these scenarios were either ethanol from fermentation, or electricity from anaerobic digestion (AD). By-...
